Raised in central Illinois, Peggy grew up in a large, extended family that loved to sing and perform together. From the age of 3, Peggy performed solo and with her family at state fairs, for church, school, and at weddings. At 5, she started piano lessons, and also studied dance with her mother, who was a ballroom dance instructor.
Her grandfather was not only a singer, but also a magician, and for many years, Peggy worked as his assistant. She helped set up the various tricks and loved to perform in the disappearing acts on stage.
Peggy continued to perform in high school productions, and participated in summer stock at the “Little Theater” in Sullivan Illinois. She won first place, and a scholarship to the University of Illinois in a statewide talent contest. While attending college, one of her part time jobs was to teach dancing at Arthur Murray Dance Studio.
Peggy wanted a family more than she wanted a singing career. She and her husband raised 5 children while moving around the West due to her husband’s career with the US. Forest Service. He also worked for the Nez Perce Tribe in Idaho and the San Carlos Apache Tribe here in Arizona. Peggy loves working with people, and over the years has managed hotels and worked as a Real Estate Agent.
Peggy continues to sing for fun and has performed in many local productions, including the role of “Maria” in the “ Sound of Music” and “Sister Hubert” in Nunsense II”.
